Only Now Do I See
2014

My eyes are open
What do they see?
Unfolding red roses
beneath the white winter tree
Here is a flower undevoured by the cold
like the ever present feeling of ever growing old
Can I look through your window
covered now in frost
For only after desire is relieved
can I count the cost
Hold onto this
and it will never let go
And I will never doubt
that which before I didn’t know
Send to me your eyes
with all of your disguises
Give to me your heart
when the golden art arises
I will never leave or forsake you
I will kiss you until the end of time
For to keep love from the loveless
Is to sever the sword of mine
Hold me to you closely
when I’m bleeding from the sky
When the stars burn my body,
lay me down to die
Let me rest in the death that makes me so tired
And dream of you when it’s gone
My spirit is within you, and your is within me
My heart is open
For anyone it will bleed
My eyes are open
Only now do I see
At the end…
