August first, 2009

In the world, there is a wood
With hollow trees and a green hood
I found it one day, but all that we find
We will soon lose, both possesion and mind
. . .
In the wood, the mighty winds blew
Their lugs were deep and their voices too
All the great beams began to collide
And sing in harmony, side by side

There, so subtle, all be came still
All wanting for song the silence did fill
The winds became sleepy and gave a great sigh
They put me to bed with an unsaid, "Goodbye."

My sleep swept in like a great blue wave
From its torrents I drank, in its depth I bathed;
I was one with the shining sun
Her fiery hair, her eyes of green
And her ivory skin was found within

Then the God-given dream passed like rain
All throughout its pleasures, Satan tormented in vain.
Then my consciousness regressed to its physical state,
And still the wood sang, but its voices were faint

Like nothing, no effort, I was alone
The large hallow tree-song was now but a drone
I found myself in a boat headed downstream
And I wish to this day I had stayed in that dream
. . .
Ever do memories wane in an aging mind
Thus I will lose, though I wish only to find
There is much yet to see.
But between us there is an ocean
Yet the wind-chime-wood inspires my every motion
.
