“Man Maker”

The sky is null, there are no stars
To foretell what is yet to come
The cell has neither walls nor bars
To keep its secret safe above

And all that ever will draw breath,
Its desire, a gift to bring
This little soul lost before death,
What has it to do with anything?

It shall remain, when all is said
With god to light its doubtful eyes
Before the living, after the dead
It’s precious, though it never dies

Crying for the lack of a face
Fighting in vain for my embrace
I might forget it's toxic traits

The morbidity of the art
It made our fate seem easier
In the shards of your broken heart
Beauty fixed with the macabre

Still it may know what shouldn't hurt
Removing the stain from the skirt
See and feel of what life is worth
Filling this world with a blessing

Crying for the lack of a face

Fighting in vain for my embrace

To keep its offspring oh so safe

I might forget it’s toxic traits
