And I gazed at the deep blue sea
In the dry desert night
as it silenced all of me
And shed a pretty light.
As if to call to it I gazed
And prayed with my very soul
Then I watched it amazed
As I saw the great waves roll.
They crashed for a while
In the middle then began
To grow in a style
That made tremble all the sand
All evil seemed to be
Below me like the dirt
My feet hardly touching
and the rest of me unhurt
I never closed my eyes
Nor took a step behind
Altogether unsurprised,
I watched the water rise.
When at last they reached the shore
They coverd me complete
And washed away with a roar
All the world behind my feet
Not a bone did I fracture
Nor drounding did I feel
As I was crushed beneath the waves
The holy waves that heal
Never before was I a son
In the ocean as I stood
To my God the holy one
In a world He once called, "Good"
From His hand came the ocean
From time to time I'm swimming through
With one pure and holy motion
In times of trial, where I run to.

"I would not harm you"
There is a tower with a view of the earth
watching over us in our houses
The angels will all sing
Floating white figures around its nakid stone,
Near the mountain
Mother, hold your child tight
And keep your eyes on the tower
For late is the hour in which you have come
"Still lost in the music?"
He gently asked her
But to which came no reply
Only a smile
And the father gazed into the eyes of his child
But spoke no words of love
And again he took his eternal watch
And sent them from his tower above.

Floating white figures around its nakid stone,
Near the mountain

And keep your eyes on the tower

Going down the bike trail on a hot summer's nightEnveloped in the trees and scarlet sky
My colorful feathered felted friend
Me and mine, my hollow friend
Beside the willow we'll make a bed
We'll set a nest in its roots, she said,
"Lie down on the ground, I'll lay some eggs,
This night we share is always young."
O lovely one, on your stream
I row my boat, life is but a dream
But that space where our eyes meet
Is frail. Still you hold me
Benign and bent on but one thing
But time is ment to end our being
Your woods, your nest, your tear to mend
Never I. Me and my hollow friend
